Dark star, a poem

59

By etherdemon

Shadows gather about

infusing the darkness pressed within failing flesh

of a fallen creature of forgotten lights who lies within

lies lain bare upon the exposed expose of interminable and

undetermined determination

since flown from flights of fancy into fanciful destinations

of despaired destiny

to hold the whole of the void within the hole of the heart

search the soul to find oneself the sole visitation

frequently and fiendishly fevered for fair and fragile

fruits

forgotten and forgetting all but the most exsquisite wrents

wrought willfully by unwilling participants in the parade of

pleasures purloined from the practicioners of unprecidented

carnality mired within the myriad mysteries of thier own

debached debacle called antiquity

anxiously awaiting the overture that will overturn the

turned and return those thus turned to the interminable

eternity of truth so tried by teeming masses of the trite

that they might not have to have tried to withstand the

stand stolen with steel by such sininster shedim ceaslessly

clawing at constrained captives kept within the keep of

dastardly deception abnegated by the abolution of assurance

assured naught save the knot of the noose which news newly

guided to guide the guileless galantly to the gallows

sought only by those who in seeking seek not to see the

subject of such searches sure only of the hurting for the

humane human questing quietly after a quaff of the quantity

likewise looked after

thus do shadows slip

silently and surreptitiously distancing themselves from the

caliginous character created and creating

ephemerally emitting empyrean effulgence

forthwith and having forsworn execrable existance as a

purveyor of plights personal and personable

for within the deepest darknesses do lay the brightest of

lights

Amazing collection of words, definitely designed to breathe life into my torbid carcase in the morning.

Thank you.

Wow, this is indeed an impressive collection of words. Some of them I don’t know, so I’ll have to read this again, consulting my dictionary, and again.... just to make sure I see the Dark Star in all its glory. BTW, at Creative Commons I can for some reason or another not download the pdf-file of “The Power of Open”. You seem to be an interesting ether demon :)

..words obviously delight in your company - and you delight in their company as well - so it's a match made in poetic heaven ....

Interesting how you have made your way through the poem using words that start with the same letter or a similar sound and then you move on to the next one. Very cool.

Nice job. Good play on words. Me thinks however, that you may have had too many quaffs of, too many filled to the brim, quaichs (quaighs)of the same fermented queen Anne's lace, that i seemed to have partook of when i wrote my quaint little poem called: last night in a dream.. L.O.L.

Life provides intoxication, both sweet and bitter, little else is required, though I do admit to taking a fancy to the green fairy and a pipe full of good tobacco on occasion.
